What's included in the VTCT Level 2 Facial & Skin Care Course at Boon Aesthetics Training Academy?

1. Entry Requirements

All students must be aged 18 or over
You must have a good understanding of basic English to follow the classwork and coursework effectively
There are no additional pre-requirements to completing this qualification

2. Course Structure & Practical Assessment

Our vocational qualification runs one day a week for 10 weeks, covering all the essentials to work effectively in facial and skin care. You’ll dive into:

Anatomy & Physiology: Learn about the skin, face, scalp, and neck to support your practical skills.
Skin Theory: Understand the fundamental theory of skin, including skin types and conditions.
Skin Analysis: Develop the ability to analyse different skin types and conditions effectively.
Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturising: Master the basics of maintaining skin health through proper cleansing, toning, and moisturising techniques.
Steaming and Extraction: Learn how to safely steam the face and perform extractions.
Full Facial Massage: Gain skills in providing a complete facial massage routine.
Tailor-Made Face Masques: Learn to select, mix, and apply custom face masques based on skin analysis.
Client Consultation Techniques: Understand how to conduct thorough and professional client consultations to tailor treatments to individual needs.

Completing this Level 2 course includes undertaking e-learning tasks and a written assignment for each of the three core units of study: Facial Massage & Skincare, Health, Safety & Hygiene of the Workplace, and Client Care, Communication & Salon Reception Duties. After completing the e-learning and written assignments, you will complete a final online examination.

3. Training Dates

Our Level 2 Facial & Skincare course requires one day of training a week for 10 weeks. 2025 starting dates are TBC, please watch this space!
